The Seminary Consortium for Urban Pastoral Education (SCUPE) offers classes year-round in urban ministry and community development. Their program also offers internships and a degree concentration in Community Development. Their headquarters are located downtown, easily reachable via the #6 bus.
The Urban CPE Consortium, Inc. offers an alternative clinical pastoral education program that features several non-hospital settings such as The Night Ministry, Interfaith Worker Justice, The AIDS Pastoral Care Network, and others. The director, Sr. Barbara Sheehan, is located in Hyde Park.
Interfaith Worker Justice (along with its branch program, Seminarians for Worker Justice) gets religious leaders involved in pastoral care, legislative advocacy, and direct action to improve worker safety conditions and employment policies. It is also heavily involved in providing assistance to vulnerable undocumented workers.
Interfaith Youth Core works with high school, college, and seminary students in an innovative program which uses cooperative voluntary service projects and self-story telling to build authentic interfaith dialogue and relationships.
